WHAT GOES IN THE BUCKET?

  • Click HERE to see a list of Do’s and Don'ts

WILL THE BUCKET STINK UP MY HOUSE?

  • No way.  One of the many great benefits of allowing us to serve you is the ability to maintain a clean bucket every week without the need to clean or sanitize it – we do it for you!  Moreover, our ergonomic buckets have seal tight lids that ensure NO SMELLS, NO BUGS, NO RESIDUE.

TELL ME ABOUT THE FULL SERVICE PICKUP PROCESS:

  • We will exchange your bucket at your doorstep once a week in our truck and trailer. When you subscribe, we will put your address in our system and issue you the service day most convenient based on our routes
  • Typically, we pick up buckets from front porches early in the morning but can help you decide the best location when we deliver your new member kit. We are looking for a place convenient for us to serve you and out of the way of the garbage collector's path.
  • The night before your pick up day, we will text you a reminder.  If you forget to set out your bucket for pick up, no worries- we will catch you next week.
  • You do not need to be home during pick up. Just leave the goods in our agreed location the night before and we will do the rest.  You will know we have been to your house by the clean bucket that we left in exchange for the one you filled up.

TELL ME ABOUT THE COMMUNITY DROP OFF PROCESS:

  • Exchange your bucket at a 'Compost Orlando Community Drop-Spot'.
  • Our list of commercial partners is always growing to include more places that people can exchange their buckets manually.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY BUCKET WALKS AWAY?

  • Ah yes, the infamous walking bucket….the garbage man frequently confuses the waste to be his.  We are happy to replace your bucket for $15.

WHAT IF I HAVE TOO MUCH OR TOO LITTLE FOR MY BUCKET?

  • So you have too much food waste for one bucket eh? Great! We are happy to provide a second bucket for $5/month.
  • Think you won't have enough?  You will be surprised how much compostable waste is thrown away in a week - share a bucket with your neighbor if need be.

HOW SOON SHOULD I EXPECT TO RECEIVE MY COMPOST?

  • Our controlled decomposition strategy takes 6-8 months to produce the nutrient rich soil amendment we call "Dirty 30" Compost.  Safe to say you should expect about 10 gallons of finished compost after being a customer that long- roughly enough to amend one 4' X 10' planter box.

VOLUNTEER & COMMUNITY

DO YOU NEED VOLUNTEERS?

  • YES!  Whether you want to join one of our community grow projects, help on the farm, or with social media; we are happy to have your help.  Come on!

WHAT COMMUNITIES DO YOU SERVE?

  • We have a list of community grow projects (CGP's) including the Orlando Juvenile Detention Center.  Lettuce help you start a CGP in your community!
